Hessian gift tags

This fortnights Butterfly spot challenge is:
Butterfly, Recycle and/or ruby red

I have made a tag

The red butterfly was hand cut and I used half a craft peg for it's body. The hessian started out as a circular table cloth for a function held at school. A whole lot of the clothes lost their shape when they where washed so they where going to be thrown out. I saved one and cut a rectangular runner from the centre portion which wasn't too badly mis-shaped. This little square on the tag was cut from the left overs so it certainly ticks the recycled box. I machine stitched it with black thread.

I was inspired by these seen on Pintrest

Supplies:
Card stock: cream in 160gsm
Paper: Scrapbooking paper. Fabscraps
Half a craft peg
Scrap of hessian
Cuttlebug
Die: Wplus9 Timeless tags

  1. Your freehand butterfly looks fab on the off cut of table cloth and love how you have used just part of the clothes pin for the body. (didn't think of that logical thought!) Stitching really shows up great against the hessian. Thankyou for fluttering by my challenge where your tag will be entered twice into the draw. Hugs Mrs A.

  2. Your tag is absolutely super. I love you butterfly and little peg and the hessian behind looks really rustic. Thank you for joining in at The Butterfly challenge. Barbx GDT
