I stitched the hearts in satin thread to add some shine.

Butterfrlies and Gems

I am entering this into the latest Butterfly challenge #34 which is Butterflies and gems.

I reduced the pattern by 50% and then fussy cut around each butterfly. When I know that I will be cutting out my stitching I am always very careful to adhere the ends of the thread inside the design so that they are not visible on the completed card.

I cut off a fraction of the front of the card so that a strip of pink paper in the inside is visible.

Faux stitching completed the look.

I am entering this card at Sweet Sunday Sketch  where you have to choose one of their past sketches and work with that. I choose Sketch 155 and turned it on it's side.

I love this stitched basket although I have to be honest and say that it's a bit tricky the first time around.

I substituted the stitched flowers for punched ones.

Outside the circle

This weeks challenge at Split Coasts Stampers. Free 4 all is called Outside the Circle and it is to use Brads on your card but they can't be round. True to form most of my brads are round however I do have some multi coloured flowers which I used on this card.

I liked the effect of the thread against the navy card stock so I stitched a second one, this time adding part of a swirl down the side. 

Believe it or not I used the same navy coloured card stock in both, it's obviously just the quality and light of the photos that make it look different.

Following a Sketch

I don't always find using a sketch as a cue the easiest thing. Often it's only after looking at the projects made by the design team that I am able to think of a card which I can enter into the challenge.

This weeks sketch at CAS(e) this sketch was just such a challenge.

  but here is my card

and a pink one too.

I used pastel Pencils to colour the little shoes and then smudged the colouring with an ear bud. Flat backed gems where added as buckles.

Pop

Well the first week of my Holidays is over.

One of the jobs I had on my To-do list is to start my Christmas card stock and I have been working on that this week. I have battled to get motivated about Christmas this year but once I sat down and started working, it was amazing how the ideas have flowed. You'll be see lots on them in the near future.

On to my card.

I coloured the balloons with pastel pencils which I then smudged.

A tortoise

Well it's the end of the first week of my holidays and I am loving having time to myself. I am getting organized with my christmas card stock. I know it's only July but during the term it gets really busy, and this term I will be starting the school concert (it's my baby this time around) and I have to run the hockey too, so time is of the essence.
