Gift wrap

Now that Christmas is over and all the presents have been given and received I can share with you what my gifts looked like this year.
I always try to stick to a colour theme and use the same kind of embellishment on them all each year.

Here are my 2016 gifts

I used a strip of hessian tape and some red satin ribbon on each one and made my own clay hearts with air drying clay.To make the hole I used an old take out chop stick and to make the design I pressed an embossing folder into the clay before leaving it to dry.
I traced around the heart and cut out a card stock shape to write the messages on.

Here is a close up

Next time I'll roll out the clay a little flatter as they where a bit thick and heavy.

Downton Abbey

One of the great things about the holidays is having the time to catch up with all the series that you enjoy watching. I absolutely love Downton Abbey  and I devoured all nine episodes of Season 4 during that time. I'm now on the prowl for the season 5 DVD but unfortunately none of the shops seem to have received stock of it yet. (Season 6 is airing at the moment on our pay for view channel but as we don't have that I'll just have to keep checking for when it comes into the stores.)

The new cue at Casology is

I decided to do gifts which are waiting to be opened.

I tore the topper and paper with the help of my edger ruler. It gives a more controlled edge to the torn page.

Give

Well it's Sunday morning and has been an overcast weekend, perfect for snuggling up with a cup of coffee and a good book. I've got the good book and I'm drinking the coffee but unfortunately the snuggling will have to wait a couple of hours as reports are my priority today. Managed to get through six yesterday and the aim is to complete another six today so I guess I should stop playing here and get on with them!
But before I do CASology have a new cue card and it's

I made these cards a while a go and have never posted them. I'm afraid that it's a rather literal interpretation of the cue

I can't claim the idea for this card as my own but sadly can't remember where I got my inspiration.
I think I prefer the pastel one best.

Supplies:
Pattern: My own
Thread: Brands and colour codes unknown
Card stock: 160gsm in white
Paper: mauve and blue in 80gsm
Flat backed gems and metal dots
