Red and Teal

 I love this colour combination.

Here is my card

This card started out quiet differently. Initially I left the topper as a full rectangle which, as I had run out of double sided tape, I adhered to the base with some silicone glue. I used this medium often a long time ago when I was making decoupage cards and it always worked well so I had no reason for concern. This time however the glue left greasy stains on the corners of the topper so I had to lift it and trim them off. I was left with this odd shape so I added some silver paper for definition and used an embossing folder to fill up the other side of the space and ended up with this. Not my best but my lesson was learnt!

CASing Susie Nelson

Of course I had to  CASe  this one of hers as it is stitched.
I keep the idea of the circular motif in white but couldn't match the colour of the card stock exactly.
Congratulations Suzie, great work

I removed the shank from a button and added it to the centre.

A Mandala

When I saw the new sketch at CAS(e) this sketch which is this

I was stumped but then I remembered this card which I made a while ago but never got around to posting.

The pattern is obviously made for a square card but as I only make rectangular ones it didn't fit. That is when I came up with the idea for only using half of it.
When stitching half of a design you need to choose carefully as some designs only look good if the stitches are able to extend over the half way mark. This design however was perfect for chopping in half. I coloured the centre flower with pastel pencils which I then smudged with an ear bud.
I added a strip of washi tape to the base card and then adhere the topper using some foam squares to give it some height.
