A detachable Christmas ornament.

"J for joy or K for king"

My card is a joy one

My Husband's Aunt gave me a whole lot of these card stock frames for Christmas decorations. I decided to make them and adhere them to the front of a card to send out this year. Once the cards have been taken down at the end of the Christmas season the decoration can be detached and hung on the tree for years to come.

A welcome cat

'Animal Fun'

I have had the inspiration card for this one aved as part of my 'To try list' for years now but it wasn't until I got my Silhouette machine that I had a pattern for a door.
So here it is.

The cat was done with a die.
I embossed the topper. Cut two doors, one white and one blue and then filled the windows of the door with the white cut outs. An enamel dot was added for the door knob.

I will also be  entering this at CAS on Sunday where it is

A really good read

Amazingly I'm actually busy reading this book right now

I choose to concentrate on the colour palette and the fact that we can only see half of her face.
Here is my Half a snowman

I cut the snowman with my Silhouette. A little bit of fiddling but am happy with how it has turned out.

I will also be entering this at My NBUS challenge 14 as I have never used this Snowman pattern before

A bit of history

I made some small cards

The embroidered flowers come from a very old table cloth that used to belong to my Mom. When I was helping her pack up our family home I came across it but unfortunately it had holes in it. I managed to selvage some which I added as a detail onto a dressing gown but the rest I used for cards.
I love re purposing things with a little bit of history.

'Anything Christmas + optional twist Bells'

and Merry little Christmas challenge is
'Anything Christmas goes'

so here is my card

I will also be entering this over at Simon says stamp blog Wednesday challenge where it's
'Use dies or punches'
Both the tag and sentiment are made using a die.

Late last year I was given a stack of cross stitching magazines by a friends Mom. At Christmas time I went through them all and marked the patterns I would like to stitch. I'm happy to say that this lock down I have made a sizable dent in the list. Here is one of them. I machine stitched it to the card stock. The little tag is made from a recycled Christmas card from last year. Too pretty to throw away.
