A Birthday Celebration

I choose the spots and sparkle when I made this celebration card for a beautiful young lady.

A basket full of flowers

CASology 's challenge this week is

 

 

I'm really pleased with how my card turned out this time.

 

 

This card started out as an idea when I bought some new PJ's and they had a bike with a basket of flowers on them. I always intended making a card along those lines and then when I saw this card

I knew exactly how I would do it.

 

Initially I pricked the bike. Then I added the watercolour and lastly did the stitching.

 

Often when using watercolour on card stock the card gets a little warped. I learnt this trick to counter that from Debbie Hughes at Limedoodle. Double sided foam tape in long stripes makes it lie a bit flatter. I usually only use squares of it on all my other cards.

CASology have a new cue and it's 

 

 As I have said before I'm really enjoying stitching this bike pattern so I did it again for this
 

 

The ribbon is actually self adhesive (I bought it in New Zealand many moons ago). The buttons are from my stash and I did some doodling around the edge to complete.

A little while ago I stitched  this card but thought that the bike in all blue was a bit heavy. This was the perfect opportunity to try and lighten it. To do that I did the spokes in silver. I much prefer this version.

A basket full of Butterflies

It's the last day of my school holidays today. They have been great but I guess it's time to go and earn the big bucks again, if only!!!!

Summer bicycle

Some how or another I have got myself involved in the International Food Fair being held at my church this weekend. I say some how or another as neither my hubby or myself can recall ever saying that we would help out but somehow we are. I spent the weekend making bunting and aprons with Union Jacks on them. It's the last thing that I could afford to be doing as my concert is a week away and reports are due soon too. (If I'm perfectly honest , however, I also bought a stunning piece of fabric last week and would really have rather been sewing that instead.)

Autumn

Simply less is moore have a challenge and it's one layer "Autumn"

I have made quite a few autumn cards recently, 4 to be exact. I needed 2 for my guest designer stint at Time out Challenges but I actually made 4 and then chose the two I wanted to use. So today is one of the cards that I didn't use. It fits the challenge perfectly.

Banners

Well our lovely long weekend is over and we had a great time away. Fortunately the weather played ball and it only started getting cold yesterday afternoon when we where on our way home. A lot of time was spend fishing, the men folk that is, but nothing caught was big enough to make it to our pan so fortunately we, the women folk, over catered as usual. Despite eating heartily I feel like we brought home more than we set out with!!!

The new cue word at Addicted to CAS is

I don't really use banners on my cards very much, in fact I can only think of one occasion when I did. Fortunately I had a photo of it in my 'still to be displayed' stash so here it is.

The banners are hand cut and I drew the string holding them together with a fine liner. I adapted the bike as the one on the pattern is decidedly girly.

Today is the last day of my holidays. They have gone by far too fast but I do feel nice and relaxed and ready for a new term, I suppose!!!
