When I hear the word 'precious' straight away I think of the things that are precious to me, my family, my God, my cat, my health but what about precious metals and stones or gems.
I am definitely a jewellery kind of a girl, I always accessorise with a piece or two so today's card covers both categories for me.
This card was made as a wedding card for my cousin who certainly kept us waiting before he tied the knot. He was over fifty when he said "I do' for the first time.
The heart represents how precious a spouse is and the gold on the ribbon is for the precious metal of the same name.
I die cut the heart and then wove the ribbon, once complete I adhered it with tape to the edge of the die shape. The gold edged ribbon was rather difficult to work with as the gold kept on unravelling so for the second card I chose to use satin ribbon instead and to add (dots of liquid) pearls were each strand overlapped.
I will be entering this in the challenge at CASology which is

ReplyDeleteWOW, both of these are beautiful, Glenda!!! Love the woven ribbon with the gold!!!! If I had to pick my fave of the two, I'd say nr 2, but they really are both just stunning!!!

Stunning cards. Saw the gold-edged one in the CASology gallery, and was immediately intrigued. This is just lovely. And the second card is gorgeous too. Straight, tight, and tucked behind hearts...very sweet! Bev
