Birthday Tortoises

Freshly made sketches have this great sketch. I think it might just become one of my favourites.

 

I turned it on it's side and made this card for my youngest nephew.

I choose to concentrate on the colours and came up with this card which will go to my Brother in law as he is always pottering in his garden.

Serenity

This week's Split coast stampers Featured stamper 496 is Mandi
I decided to CASe this card of hers.

Here is mine made for a young lady who is turning 18 this year.

 

I used a large oval die, placed long ways to make the curved lower edge. It took a bit of working out so that it didn't leave a mark on the card stock but eventually I realized that if I just rolled the card stock half way into my Cuttlebug and then backed it out, that would work. It was worth the extra brain power to work that out. I'm very happy with the end result.

Punched flower tags

This fortnights Butterfly spot challenge is 

'Butterflies, pink and/or punch'

I've been making quiet a few tags lately and one of these fits the bill perfectly.

I had the punched flowers left over from when I made this chocolate box order. They were punched from paint chip cards.

 

The butterfly is also from a punch. The tag and leaf are both hand cut.

A basket full of flowers

CASology 's challenge this week is

 

 

I'm really pleased with how my card turned out this time.

 

 

This card started out as an idea when I bought some new PJ's and they had a bike with a basket of flowers on them. I always intended making a card along those lines and then when I saw this card

I knew exactly how I would do it.

 

Initially I pricked the bike. Then I added the watercolour and lastly did the stitching.

 

Often when using watercolour on card stock the card gets a little warped. I learnt this trick to counter that from Debbie Hughes at Limedoodle. Double sided foam tape in long stripes makes it lie a bit flatter. I usually only use squares of it on all my other cards.
