Girl, you'll be a woman soon.

I'm thrilled to be the Guest designer over at Uniko studio for challenge 35 and this is my second card.

The challenge is to take inspiration from a song or the lyrics of a song.

Here is my first card and for today's one I have used a line from the song 'Girl' by Sundance Kid.
It goes like this
"Girl, you'll be a woman soon"
and I came up with this card

Initially I pricked the pattern and then added the watercolour working from the left across the page. Once it was dry I stitched the topper, added some glitter around the edges, a couple of gems and it was all done.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Okay, so I know that today isn't a Monday but it is a special day for me. I am the Guest Designer over at Uniko studio
The challenge is to be inspired by a song or the lyrics from a song and my song is
"Rainy days and Mondays" by The Carpenters.

I suppose I'm kind of showing my age by my song choice.

Anyway here is my card

I haven't used my Texture paint for a while and it had got a bit thick hence the bald spot in the bottom left. It just fell off as I was working with it. But I decided that it added to the rough texture so I used the panel after all.

So pop on over and see what the rest of the design team have to inspire you.

I will also be entering this over at CASology were the cue is

I'm dreaming of a rainy day, or a couple of them rather, to break our drought!

and at  Curtain call challenge were I concentrated on the colours in this photo

Supplies:
Thread: Cerise: DMC S601
              Grey: DMC 310

Music

I come from a musical family, we can all sing but none of us play any instrument very well. My cousin, on the other hand, is one of those annoying people who can make music with just about anything that he picks up and through the amazing mystery which is genetics, my niece has the same ability. When I saw the challenge over at Addicted toCAS I knew that it would be the perfect opportunity for me to make her card for later this year.

So without any further fanfare here it is

I'll also be entering this over at Share joy challenge were I will be doing the clean and simple side

Serenity

This week's Split coast stampers Featured stamper 496 is Mandi
I decided to CASe this card of hers.

Here is mine made for a young lady who is turning 18 this year.

I used a large oval die, placed long ways to make the curved lower edge. It took a bit of working out so that it didn't leave a mark on the card stock but eventually I realized that if I just rolled the card stock half way into my Cuttlebug and then backed it out, that would work. It was worth the extra brain power to work that out. I'm very happy with the end result.

Card stock: 160gsm in white
