School colours

The colours over at CAS colours and sketches are not usually colours that I would combined but a little while ago I was asked to make a Thank You card for a young lady to give to the Principal of a school. She wanted me to use the school colours on the card and amazingly they match the colours chosen for this challenge perfectly.

Here is the card I made for her.

Fun with felt

is "fun with felt".
Over Christmas time last year I made a whole lot of felt tree ornaments. I had some oddments left over so when I saw this card I decided to give it a go.

Source: Unknown
This is my version

I put a dab of craft glue onto the back of each felt circle to hold them in place before I secured them to the card stock by stitching on a button. To complete I did some faux stitching around the edges.

Supplies:
Card stock: 160gsm in white

A pair of flamingoes

Freshly made sketches have this sketch
I made this card

I used a single flamingo pattern. First I pricked the right hand bird and then very carefully I inverted the pattern, held it up to the light to match the flamingos and then I pricked the second one. I joined the water so that it made a circle in the middle.

Thread: Blue Anchor 501
             Silver: DMC 415
             Coral: Unknown
Card stock: 200gsm in kraft

Felt that

Simon says stampblog Monday's challenge is

Felt that

This is a perfect opportunity for me to show you the rest of the little felt tree ornaments which I made at Christmas time but didn't get around to blogging about.
I made  these to put on my gifts but today's ones were for my tree.

and a closer look......

I put off making this heart as it looked rather fiddly but once a got going it came together really easily.
The bell on the bunny is off a Lindt choc bunny I got for Easter last year.

I took my inspiration from similar ones seen on Pintrest.
I am very happy with the outcome

Pink owl

Recently I was browsing through a collection of owl photo's on Facebook and came across one that was the brightest blue. It looked as though someone has taken a paint brush to it but it was the real deal. So I figured that if nature can do bright blue owls then what's to stop me from stitching a bright pink one.
CASe this sketch have a lovely sketch this week and it's

I doodled around the edge to complete.

Hessian gift tags

This fortnights Butterfly spot challenge is:
Butterfly, Recycle and/or ruby red

I have made a tag

The red butterfly was hand cut and I used half a craft peg for it's body. The hessian started out as a circular table cloth for a function held at school. A whole lot of the clothes lost their shape when they where washed so they where going to be thrown out. I saved one and cut a rectangular runner from the centre portion which wasn't too badly mis-shaped. This little square on the tag was cut from the left overs so it certainly ticks the recycled box. I machine stitched it with black thread.

I was inspired by these seen on Pintrest

Supplies:
Card stock: cream in 160gsm
Paper: Scrapbooking paper. Fabscraps
Half a craft peg
Scrap of hessian
Cuttlebug
Die: Wplus9 Timeless tags

Torn from a notebook

Of course this word has two meanings. One as in torn and the other as in the fluid which leaks from our eyes during times of emotion.
I have chosen to do the Torn one.
My card looks as though it has been torn from a notebook

I was really excited to use this die as it's new! Some machine stitching finished it nicely.
