Delicate

I had a great day yesterday. I met up with some ex colleagues for lunch. It's always great catching up.

Addicted to CAS have this as their cue word

I choose to stitch a delicate arum lily and then use some delicate lace as an embellishment

I experimented with some rayon thread which has a lovely shine to it. To make the lace a bit wider I placed two pieces back to back and used some ribbon to cover the join.

Supplies:
Pattern: East Embroidery on Paper by Joke de Vette
Thread: DMC Rayon in lime green and yellow
Card Stock: 160gsm in white
Scrap of nylon lace
Satin ribbon

A row of flowers

Well hope everyone had a good Easter weekend. I even managed to get some time in my craft room to prick card toppers, something I have been wanting to do for a while now. I played around with watercolour and tried some creative ways of using my dies, so all in all a good day.

Time out challenges have this beautiful card as inspiration this time

I decided to recreate the row of flowers but decided to concentrate on the colour green alone.

I picked up on the green in Inspired by all the little things' challenge and so will be entering  it there too.

Supplies:
pattern: Stitching cards. Free flower bookmark
Thread: Brands and colour codes unknown

Paint chip birthday wishes

CASe this sketch has this sketch

Initially I thought that I would opt out of this challenge as I had no idea what to make but then I remembered these cards I made a while ago for an order. As I have never shown it, it's perfect for this challenge

They where made for male birthdays and are actually paint chip cards cut into strips and adhered unevenly to the base.

The sentiment is computer generated and I layered the topper onto a piece of black paper. Very simple but lots of fun to make.
 Supplies:
Card stock: 160gsm in white

Lucky stars

is to use some lucky stars.
I made this card for our God Daughter.

It's the quick cousin of a shaker card. The sequins move but not as freely as in the real deal. First I did the stamping, then I made a little mound of sequins and stars. I carefully laid the vellum star over them and then holding everything as straight as possible I machine stitched around the star. To complete I added the sentiment and a couple of sequins.

My inspiration

Card board: 200gsm in kraft
Cuttlebug

Easter Bunny

Time out challenges. have an Easter or Spring challenge this fortnight.
I have chosen Easter and here is my card

I love this little bunny, so cute. The white rabbit is actually a button which has had the shank removed. I bought an assorted card of buttons a couple of years ago from a fete and this is one of them. By the look of the card board backing and the quality of the buttons I reckon that they are probably nearly as old as me!

Feather inspired butterflies

Pinterest inspired challenge have this challenge for March

I decided to pick up on the colours for my card

I will be entering this over at
Splitcoaststampers Free for all 315 where the challenge is "Reading Recommendations".
I have recently finished reading a book called "Flight Patterns" by Barbara Kingsolver. It's about a time when the migration of the Monarch Butterflies takes them very off course and they end up in Rural America instead of their native Mexico. The story is about how this effects the farming community where they settle. It's all fiction but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So even though Monarch butterflies are orange and black this card is to recommend this book.

Tea cup

I will be entering this over at Inspired by all the little things where they have this gorgeous inspiration

We are a family that firmly believes a cup of tea will solve all sorts of ills. This philosophy is particularly true of one of my sisters so I made this card especially for her.

I do not have a teacup die so this is hand cut. I hand drew a double line in silver around the white section, deliberately making it uneven and even overlap in places.

P.S. What I was dreading yesterday did not come to pass. It rained and so the outing was postponed until next term! (hopefully it will be a little cooler then)

Supplies:
Card Stock: 160gsm in white
Paper: Paper pizzazz soft tints
Ribbon: Satin apricot and scarp of white organza
Flat backed pearls
Pentel gel pen in silver
Double sided tape
