I combined the ribbon and flower bit and made flowers out of ribbon. The embossed paper is store bought
I'll also be entering this at Simply less is moore. where the cue is to "Add some Texture". There is a lot of texture on this card, the twine, the ribbon and the embossing and at

Saphire Butterflies

Butterfly spot challenge have a new challenge, it's a Butterfly with a Stamp and/or the colour sapphire.
I really fancied winning the prize for using all three options but as I don't often use stamps on my cards, once again I came up with something without. Guess I missed out on that one.

To make this card I reduced the pattern to 50%. The corner embossing was done by hand using my Crafter's Companion

I have discovered a new challenge and it's Color throw down.
Here are the colours for this week

  and here is my card

I tried attaching the little key charm with both wire and thread to see which worked best. The one attached with thread hung better. I also fussy cut one and used foam dots to give it some dimension. I prefer this finish to the 2D option.

I'll also be entering this over at Stamplorations CAS challenge were the challenge is

Black and White Butterfly

TGIF challenges have this sketch

I made this card

To make this card I started with a white card stock base. I then adhered half of the original size paper in black to the left side. Next I trimmed off a 1cm from another piece of black paper and repeated the process with a piece of white. I then matched them up in the centre. Once again I repeated this process with a third piece of black and white paper. Next I pricked the pattern and then stitched it. A bit fiddly but I am happy with the result

Supplies:
Thread: Black: DMC in Noir
             White:  in blanche

Embossing and ribbon

Freshly made sketches have this sketch for the week

My take

I adhered the ribbon to the card stock prior to pricking the pattern. It as quite a tricky business sticking over the ribbon as the holes where rather hard to see. I hand embossed the leaves.

Ivy leaves

CASe this sketch have a new sketch

Here is my take on it

A while ago when I was a guest designer ( here and here ) I had to make a couple of Autumn inspired cards, this was one of them but as I made far too many before I made up my mind on which to send for inspiration, I didn't use it in the end. So I'll enter it into this challenge instead.

Card stock: 160gsm in white

Love that Guy

Split coast stampers Free 4 all 311 have "Love that guy" as their cue for this week. The challenge is to make a Valentines Card for the man in your life. We don't really do Valentines (I'd much rather be spoilt because DH thought of it himself than for him to be prompted to spoil me!) but if I was to make him one it would probably be something along these lines.

I took the hearts from a Stitching Cards pattern and changed them up a bit.

In Sympathy

Another colour challenge at TGIF challenges

This card was made as a Sympathy card.

I rather stupidly didn't check that the stitched flowers would fit into my oval die and true to form once I had stitched them they didn't. I had to "make them fit" and ended up cutting the oval by hand.

Glitter

Isn't it amazing how some weeks the challenges are all rather similar and you are able to make one card work for more than one challenge and then other weeks nothing seems to link up? Well this week is one of the latter. Not much is gelling for me.

But not to worry I'll give it my best shot starting over at CASology where this is their cue

I made this card

I recently went to a closing down sale and managed to pick up some lovely things for next to nothing. This was one of them. It was a fraction too big for the card stock size that I use so I chopped off a bit of the nose of the car.
A quick, easy card but lots of fun to make.

Supplies:
Card Stock: 160gsm in white
Glitter: Kindy Glitz in Crystalina
Liquid pearls in platinum and gold

Red

Addicted to CAS have one word as their cue this time and it's.......

It fitted perfectly with the birthday card which I made for one of my nephews. He loves cricket and plays the position of wicket keeper so I decided to make him a cricket ball,

I used a pre cut card base and covered it with red paper. The sentiments were computer generated and I did some faux stitching in black around them. I used the same fine liner to rule a "join" down the centre of the ball.  To depict the stitching on the ball I used a white gel pen.

Supplies:
Pre cut ball shaped base card
Pentel white gel pen
Pentel black fine liner
Red paper 80gsm
