Red, Black and mint

Well it's nearly holiday time for the schools, one week to go and boy is it going to be a busy one. Tomorrow I have to finalize the roles for the school concert so that the boys can learn their lines during the time off and then we can start practising in earnest when we get back. I'm not looking forward to that!

TGIF challenges have there usual

and I have chosen to combined these two.

This is a card I photographed a long time ago but have never shown so apologies for the bad photograph.

You will need to look quite closely to see the Watermelon and mint colours but they are there as flat backed gems.

Circles

Boy has it been hot. Thursday was a public holiday so schools got Friday off too. I went to a Garden Show about 45 mins from my home town and this place was scorching. 36 degrees when we arrived at 10am and up to 43 at midday. Hope this isn't an indication of what summer is going to be!
The new challenge at  CASology  is circles

 and here is my card

I stitched the butterfly onto a circle and then placed a thin fishing line over the back and backed it with a second circle.
I cut a larger circle out of the yellow card front and a smaller piece of card stock in the same yellow colour as the card. I then lined the fishing line up onto the yellow card, secured it and stuck the second pink piece down to neaten it.
To complete I outlined the larger circle with some glitter.

I will also be entering this over at Share joy challenge where the cue is

Today's challenge is very apt given the rain.

Addicted to CAS have a new challenge and I decided to use it to add to my Christmas card stash

Autumn Flowers

Well I survived our overnight excursion. Unfortunately for the boys it was rainy and cold the whole time so they only got to do one outside activity. They still had lots of fun and made plenty of noise and mess!

For today's card I combined two challenges
Freshly made Sketches

and Uniko Studio where the challenge is Autumn/Fall.

I probably took some liberties with both the sketch and the theme. I choose to use Autumn colours in my card as it is actually spring where I live and not autumn at all,
here is my card

and then a spring version with some hand embossing. I coloured the vases with pastel pencils and then smudged them with an ear bud.

Agapanthus flower

I am away at the moment on an overnight excursion with the school. We have taken all 88 nine year olds to what is essentially a farm. As a school we have visited this place twice before and the boys have always had an absolute ball. Got extremely dirty and wet but it was all good, wholesome, clean fun. The kind I had as a child but which today's city kids sadly don't get. Hopefully I managed to get some sleep last night!

This is the new sketch at Sweet Sunday Sketch

Hopeful Change

This weeks Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All #290 is all about Hopeful Change. It is their way of remembering that sad day which happened in American History this month a couple of years ago.

I have interpreted this as a gradual change in colour from light pink to cerise (as in ombre), symbolising hope.

Here is my card

Butterflies on a thread

Well I did my last early morning hockey duty
on Saturday, yeah. No more leaving the house while it's still dark on a weekend morning until next year, at least.

The fortnightly challenge at Butterfly Challenge is Butterfly and 'Y' for yarn. You may use yarn or some form of embroidery thread. Just up my ally!!!
and as fortune would have it the challenge at Clean and Simple on Sunday is "Stitching"!

So here is my card

I embossed a piece of paper with a brick pattern and adhered it to my card stock before adding my butterfly topper. Flat backed gems complete the layout.

Baby Dress

This is my second post for today because this sketch at Share Joy Challenge just happened to match a card I made a while ago but have never shown.
This is the sketch.

and here is my card

I did something with this card which I don't usually do and that is to stitch onto paper. I did this as I didn't have any card stock vaguely the right colour. I chose not to do this too often as the paper bends and is inclined to tear but I got luck with this one and had no dramas.
I loved the pink paper, it had the amazing ability to match with both pinks and peaches. Unfortunately it is now finished and as I have no idea where I got it from I guess that's the end of it for me. The butterflies at the bottom are on a little metal self adhesive strip.

Time out Challenges is Monochrome with put your mark on it. That means using a pen, pencil, water colours, felt tipped pen etc on your design.

Here is my card
The lines are hand drawn using a fine liner and the corners are rounded with the help of a punch.

It was a really quick design to stitch so I made another two.

Green and Gold are the colours of our national Rugby team "The Springboks". I'm  a great fan of the game and will definitely be rooting for them in the upcoming Rugby World Cup in England but it's also the challenge over at Simply less is Moore

The sentiment is computer generated and the card is hand cut.
